Program Assistant - The Haase House, Mukwonago
The Haase House is an excellent place for college students to gain experience in a supportive and innovative setting serving young adults with disabilities. The Director has supervised OT and Special Education students, but would consider volunteers from any helping profession and would make it worth your while.
Gifts/talents to Share:
The Haase House is always interested in individuals who will lead an activity in a skill that you are good at or simply enjoy very much. Our young adults need more exposure to activities that will foster more interest in the world around them, their community and definitely other options for leisure and recreation. We know there are many of you out there with wonderful gifts to share. THH is a calm, relaxed and wonderful environment to give it a try and make a difference in their futures. This may be a one-time commitment or you may find this as something you may enjoy doing from time to time.
The Haase House is actively pursuing individuals to volunteer a small amount of their time with general odd jobs. These jobs may include:
THH appreciates any and all help whether you're a one-time volunteer or a regular. Our staff spends so much time with the clients, but simple home maintenance/tasks are not within our budget as a new non-profit.
The Haase House is ALWAYS open to considering internship or fieldwork students. Our director is an Occupational Therapist with a Masters in Special Education and has Autism and Transition certifications. Our manager is a Recreation Therapist. We certainly would be able and willing to oversee students from these programs! In addition, we would love to provide meaningful experiences that assist students in determining or solidifying their career paths.
We're looking for someone to help with repainting our kitchen cabinets, assisting the renovation of our birdhouse/installing a post in the yard, replacing/installing our screen door, painting trim around the garage door, general maintenance, cleanup, and odd jobs such as painting walls! If you want to be part of our cause, please call Mary at (262)-278-0443 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Interested in providing a hobby-based workshop to our participants? We'd love to hear more! Please contact Mary to discuss your ideas & availability!
